Plastics are increasingly used for moving parts like gears, bearings, sliders and guides because they are cost efficient, hardly produce any noise and often do not need external lubrication. EPIC Polymers offers a complete range of innovative tribological compounds, including special grades for gears, highly loaded gears and bearing grades under the tradename TRIBOCOMP®.

TRIBOCOMP® offers many advantages over metals:

much lower manufacturing cost less weight resulting in less power loss through the transmission greatly reduced noise levels elimination of grease PTFE free grades available.

The fast increase of use of electro-mechanical systems in the automotive industry has pushed us to development of a new generation of tribological compounds, which is capable of transmitting extremely high loads.

EPIC Polymers offers the full range of lubricated polymers, including most base polymers lubricated with PTFE, Aramid, Graphite and/or silicone oil. Grades reinforced with both standard length and long glass-, aramid- or carbon- fibres are available.

Together with our partners LEIS Polytechnik GmbH and FACT GmbH, EPIC Polymers has developed a new, innovative generation of TRIBOCOMP® grades.

Compared to traditional solutions like PTFE, the new generation of TRIBOCOMP® grades offers far lower wear and significantly lowers friction. Particularly for plastic-on-plastic wear, very low wear factors and friction coefficients are achieved.

The new TRIBOCOMP® generation is available in combination with both long fibre and standard fibre reinforcement. Using our revolutionary long fibre EP technology, we are able to cut long fibre granules to a length of 5 mm, which makes it possible to produce components with small dimensions.
